Ingredients:
1 chicken, cubed
½ lemon juice
10 small potatoes, 1 ½ inch diameter
each
2 large onions, one sliced and another
one cubed
2 inches ginger
4-6 cloves of garlic
2-3 green chilies
6-8 tbsp mastered oil
2 bay leaves
½ tsp garam masala
½ tsp sugar
¾ tsp red chili powder
¾ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
How to Cook:
- Add lemon juice to the chicken cubes and set aside for 1 hour.
- Peel the potatoes. Cut potatoes into 2 pieces and set aside.
- Put onion cubes, ginger, garlic and green chilies in a blender to make a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry bay leaves and garam masala. Add sugar and sliced onion. Fry until onions turns brownish.
- Add potatoes and fry for 5-6 minutes. Take the potatoes out and set aside.
- Add onion-ginger-garlic-chili paste and stir fry till water evaporated. Add all other spices except salt. Stir for a couple of minutes.
- Add chicken and fry for 5 minutes. Cover the pan, lower heat and cook for 15-20 minutes.
- Add the fried potatoes and salt, stir. Cook until potatoes become tender.
- Garnish with chopped coriander.
- Serve hot with rice.
